Brand Story: Ramona Sonin is a sustainable couture/wearable art studio where art and fashion blur lines and float. There is a playful relationship between texture and layers while working with upcycled fabrics and materials. Textural compliments that are both earthly and astral - ethereal and desert like. In its upcycling of materials, the work is improvisational and wholly intentional, as if each recycled piece were scrapped and donated for this sole destination. While delicate and tender in palette, Ramona Sonin imbues her designs with the armored feminine – both formally and materially. The loosened whimsy of tulle, silk, hand-embroidered and sculpted florals have a sophisticated counterpoint in disciplined, masterful linework. Like the artist herself, the work is bewitched, an ethereal crusade: steam pink and unearth bound.
